AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) is the first Russian all-cargo airline to operate schedule services in Europe, Russia and Asia. The launch of schedule services to North America is planed in 2008 in line with ABC network expansion and fleet modernization plans.
AirBridgeCargo Airlines was launched in 2002 by Volga-Dnepr group. Operating initially as Volga Dnepr Airlines scheduled operations division, ABC started flight operations in may 2004 between China and Europe. Within 2 years ABC had developed into a fully independent airline with a network covering China, Europe, Japan and Russia.
On Oct 18, 2006 ABC obtained a Russia Air Operator Cert (AOC) this becoming the second airline in Volga-Dnepr group. In 2007 ABC became the first Russia carrier to join the Cargo 2000 (C2K) quality monitoring initiative – a key pillar of IATA e-Freight program. The Airline also introduced even higher levels of customer services and significantly grew its fleet with delivery of two more B747-200F. The latest addition to the fleet of three new Boeing B747-400ERF in Nov 2007, Feb and Apr 2008 make ABC the first and only Russia operator of this extended range modification of the Boeing 747 freighter family, and open the new opportunities to the airline. The AirBridgeCargo fleet now totals seven aircraft including three new Boeing B747-400ERF. Five more Beoing 747-8F will be delivered in 2012-13.
